During a time before the Salem Witch Trials, in a small house, in a place with no name that anyone remembers, there lived a beautiful woman, her beauty was well known, however she was also a witch, a good witch, or some people thought, people from across the land would seek her healing powers, while very few returned she helped those that required it and sought her out. In her humble abode she always kept two mirrors that sat back to back behind her, she already had a secret with them. One day a fair young maiden walks in, she has a question about the man she was about to marry, the witch does some consulting and told the maiden a lie, she said that her man was really in love with someone else, the maiden broke down and wanted to disappear, the witch told her to stand in front of one of the mirrors, the maiden, face full of tears, did what she was told, the witch then threw a magic powder on her and told the maiden not to move, as the witch stood in front of the other mirror and began to chant, the maiden was then sucked into the mirror and the witch regained her youth. If there was one thing, this witch hated more, it was young lovers, if anyone of them would seek her advice she would like to the point where the maiden would be so heart broke that all they wanted would be to disappear, she made that happen. Then usually after several days the groom to be would visit to try and find their lost love, she would often reply as they never made it or yeah there were here and left and she didn't know where they would be, the groom to be would then leave heart broken or ask if she would help them locate their loved one. for the men that asked to help she would have them stand at the opposite mirror and repeat the process of the young man being pulled in by a doppelganger of their bride. Eventually the Salem witch trial happened and this witch wasn't even safe. She grabbed one mirror and dragged it as far as she could, when she could carry it no further she had cursed the mirror.
"Anyone who owns the mirrors, and is female, will be forcibly pulled into the mirror, to break the correct mirror would prove their love as a strong bond, the wrong mirror broken and though my body may be gone my soul will mask as their beloved and pull them in, neither mirror can be destroyed no matter what is done, with each soul pair captured, this spell only strengthens and never weakens."
With these words, the witch slumps over dead and fades inside the mirror, her spirit is now in the mirror before her reflection fades. A few short moments later a a group of villagers carrying rope, torches, and pitch forks run up only to find the mirror, thinking nothing of it one villager takes the mirror home to his family, his wife tough i was beautiful, the youngest daughter was near obsessed with it. One day the wife was ill for an unknown reason, she was fine until the mirror arrived but no one put two and two together. Eventually she died but the madness didn't end there, two of the three children had grown up and moved on, eventually the father became ill in the same fashion as he late wife, later on he too died, the youngest daughter was left so she when with her possessions and the mirror and went to live with her grand parents, this youngest child was the great grandmother of Elizabeth.
